An important COVID-19 update from Rittal Systems Ltd. (Canada)

Dear clients and colleagues,

Rittal has had the pleasure of working and growing with all of you over the last 25 years. In those years we have faced many challenges together, but none were of the scale, reach or potential impact on day-to-day life as the one we are currently facing with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. We view our clients as our partners, and we are available to help you address the unique obstacles to your business at this time.

Our top priority is to protect the health and safety of our staff, clients and colleagues during the novel coronavirus outbreak. With that in mind, within Rittal Canada we have made the decision to close our offices to all non-Rittal visitors and implement further steps based on recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Canada to minimize the risk of spreading the virus. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to our business partners and employees as we all adapt to the quickly changing situation in front of us. Like you, we continue to monitor the situation, and respond based on best practices recommended by provincial, federal and international health authorities.

Here are some of the steps we have already taken:

Travel and events: All business travel outside of Canada has been cancelled. Travel within Canada will be permitted in exceptional circumstances only. We have made the decision to not attend any tradeshows, conferences or large meetings until such time as the current restrictions on large gatherings are fully lifted.

Working options: We have instructed all staff who can work remotely to do so, and we are currently working on the management and risk mitigation of our remaining staff at the Mississauga office to ensure the continued operation of our warehouse and Regional Modification Center. Additionally, we have instructed our field-based employees to discontinue face-to-face meetings until social distancing measures are no longer needed. Our field-based employees will remain active and engaged with our business partners through voice- and internet-based communication tools (phone, email, WebEx, etc.) and they are fully capable of supporting your day-to-day needs through these means. Please feel free to reach out to them for any support you need.

Sanitization and hygiene: Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes are widely available throughout our offices, and we have stepped up cleaning and sanitization efforts. We have encouraged best practices regarding hand washing and personal protection, widely recognized as the best way to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Business continuity: Rittal has assessed the potential exposure to our supply chain and a task force was set up as soon as news of the virus broke. To date, it has not affected our deliveries. Moving forward, Rittal Systems Ltd. (Canada) has the ability to source products from our various manufacturing locations, including Germany, USA, China, India, Italy and the UK. Plans to scale up and down various production facilities depending on the risk and outbreak remain ongoing, and we continue to work with our global leadership team to ensure that the delivery of Rittal products in Canada will not be impacted.

We will continue to respond to this evolving situation with calm professionalism as required to ensure the safety of our employees, clients and partners. Flexibility and innovation have been key assets in the success of Rittal throughout our 25 years of operation in Canada, and they will remain critical over the coming months.

We have your challenges top of mind throughout this difficult situation, and we will support you in any way we can to allow you to manage it with minimal disruption. We are here to help. Stay well.
